Ebbtide System Requirements: What's Confirmed and What Isn't
Four lines are confirmed, six are still literally To Be Announced. Both lists are below so you can stop hunting.
Last updated:
Ebbtide's requirements are unusually incomplete for a game with a public store page. That is not a rumour — the Steam listing itself contains the phrase "To be announced" in the processor and graphics fields, on both the Windows and the Mac side.
Confirmed: 64-bit Windows 10, DirectX 11, 10 GB storage, Apple Silicon on Mac. Unconfirmed: CPU, GPU, RAM, macOS version.
- Windows 10 64-bit — confirmed
- DirectX 11 and 10 GB storage — confirmed
- macOS requires Apple Silicon, not Intel
- Processor and graphics — literally To Be Announced
Doesn't apply when: Nothing here can tell you whether your specific machine will run it. That answer does not exist until ProjectAlive publishes final specs.
The short answer
If you are deciding whether to wishlist based on your hardware: you cannot know yet, and neither can we. What you can do is rule yourself out or in on the four lines that are published.
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Can I run it on 32-bit Windows? | No. 64-bit required. |
| Can I run it on Windows 8 or older? | Not supported. Windows 10 64-bit listed. |
| Is my GPU good enough? | Unknown. Graphics field says "To be announced". |
| Is my CPU good enough? | Unknown. Processor field says "To be announced". |
| Will it run on my Intel Mac? | No. Apple Silicon required. |
| Will it run on Linux? | No. Linux is not listed as a supported platform. |
| How much disk space? | 10 GB available space. |

Minimum
| Component | Requirement | Status |
|---|---|---|
| OS | Windows 10 64-bit | Confirmed |
| Processor | To be announced | Unpublished |
| Graphics | To be announced | Unpublished |
| DirectX | Version 11 | Confirmed |
| Storage | 10 GB available space | Confirmed |
| Architecture | Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system | Confirmed |
Recommended
The recommended block contains exactly one line: "Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system."
That is not a summary we wrote — the recommended tier is genuinely that empty. There is no recommended CPU, no recommended GPU, no RAM figure at either tier.
Unknown· Memory (RAM) is not listed at all, in either the minimum or the recommended block. Its absence is not an oversight we can correct; it simply has not been published. The developer's own caveat
The store page includes this line in the minimum requirements:
Final system requirements will be announced before release.
This is the most useful sentence on the page, because it is a commitment with a deadline attached. It tells you two things: the current specs are not final, and they will be replaced before launch rather than after.
If Ebbtide releases and this line is still on the store page, that would be worth noting. As of 22 October 2026 it is accurate.
macOS requirements
| Component | Requirement | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Processor | Apple Silicon (Apple processor required) | Confirmed |
| OS | macOS (version to be announced) | Partially — version unpublished |
| Recommended | Requires an Apple processor | Confirmed |
The important line here is the one that will annoy some people: Ebbtide requires Apple Silicon. The store page states "Requires an Apple processor" and names Apple Silicon explicitly in the processor field.
In practice that means:
- Apple Silicon Macs (M-series): architecturally supported
- Intel Macs: not supported
- Whether it runs under Rosetta on an Intel Mac: not applicable, since the requirement is an Apple processor
If you are on an older Intel MacBook or iMac, this is the one confirmed line that rules you out today. It is also the line most likely to be missed by anyone skimming the page looking for a GPU name.
Platforms that are not supported
| Platform | Status |
|---|---|
| Windows | Supported (64-bit, Windows 10+) |
| macOS | Supported (Apple Silicon) |
| Linux / SteamOS | Not listed — treat as unsupported |
| Steam Deck | Not confirmed. SteamOS is Linux, so the missing Linux build is the blocker |
What the 10 GB tells you
10 GB is a small install for a game advertising a million zombies and 3D pixel-art battlefields.
Two readings, and we are not going to pick one for you:
- Positive: pixel-art rendering and aggressive asset reuse keep the footprint down, and the game is well optimised.
- Cautious: pre-release storage figures are frequently revised upward as final assets land, and the developer has explicitly said final requirements are still coming.
What we will not do is call 10 GB a performance signal. Storage size and GPU load are close to unrelated, and anyone using install size to predict frame rate is guessing.
How to check your own machine
You do not need to install anything to answer the two questions that are answerable.
- Confirm you are on 64-bit Windows 10 or newer. Settings → System → About → System type should read "64-bit operating system, x64-based processor".
- Confirm DirectX 11 support. Press Win+R, run
dxdiag, and check the DirectX Version line on the System tab. - Confirm free disk space. You need 10 GB available, and it is worth leaving headroom for patches.
- On Mac, confirm the chip. Apple menu → About This Mac. If the Chip line says Apple M1/M2/M3/M4 or later, you are in the supported group. If it says Intel, you are not.
The processor and graphics questions — whether your specific CPU and GPU are fast enough — cannot be answered until the fields stop saying "To be announced". We will update this page the day they do.
Which machines are ruled in, and which are ruled out
This is the only decision the published data actually supports. "Ruled in" does not mean "will run well" — it means nothing published contradicts it.
| Your machine | Verdict | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Windows 11 64-bit desktop, discrete GPU | Ruled in, unknown performance | Meets every confirmed line; GPU unpublished |
| Windows 10 64-bit gaming laptop | Ruled in, unknown performance | Same; laptop GPUs are the likeliest constraint |
| 32-bit Windows | Ruled out | 64-bit processor and OS required |
| Windows 8 or older | Ruled out | Windows 10 64-bit listed as minimum |
| Apple Silicon Mac (M1 or later) | Ruled in, unknown performance | Apple processor requirement met |
| Intel Mac | Ruled out | An Apple processor is required |
| Linux / SteamOS desktop | Ruled out | No Linux build listed |
| Steam Deck | Unknown | Linux-based; no compatibility rating published |
"Ruled in" is not a promise. Four of the six spec fields are still unpublished, so a machine that clears every confirmed line can still fail on GPU. Do not pre-order hardware for this game.

- Release status — specs are provisional until launch; so is everything else

Frequently asked questions
What are Ebbtide's minimum system requirements?
64-bit Windows 10, DirectX 11, and 10 GB of available storage. The processor and graphics requirements are listed as "To be announced" and have not been published as of 22 October 2026.
Does Ebbtide run on Intel Macs?
No. The Mac requirement is an Apple processor, and the processor field specifies Apple Silicon. Intel Macs are outside the stated requirement.
Does Ebbtide work on Steam Deck?
Unknown. There is no Linux build listed on the store page, and no Steam Deck compatibility rating has been published. SteamOS being Linux-based is the main obstacle.
How much RAM does Ebbtide need?
Not published. The requirement block does not include a memory line at either the minimum or recommended tier.
Will the requirements change before release?
Yes, by the developer's own statement. The store page says final system requirements will be announced before release, which means the current list is provisional.
Is Ebbtide coming to Linux or SteamOS natively?
No Linux build is listed. Only Windows and macOS are supported platforms.
